Former South Laurel Lady Cardinal Sydnie Hall was named Mid-South Conference Women’s Basketball Freshman of the Year ahead of the MSC Tournament. Hall has averaged 10.2 PPG for 224 total points this season for the Blue Raiders. She ranks fifth in 3-point field goal percentage at 39.8 with the fourth most 3-point FG per game at 2.4 in the conference with 53 made 3-point field goals on the season. She adds 2.6 assists per game. The Lindsey Wilson women’s basketball team finished the regular season with an 18-4 overall record including a 13-4 mark in the MSC.

After leading the Lady Flames in points, rebounds and blocked shots during two weekend victories at Bellarmine, Liberty center Bella Smuda has been named ASUN Conference Women s Basketball Freshman of the Week for the third time this season.
Smuda is the Lady Flames first three-time ASUN Freshman of the Week since Liberty joined the conference prior to the 2018-19 season, after her previous honors on Jan. 18 and Feb. 1. She also ties North Alabama s Sakyia White for the most ASUN Freshman of the Week honors by any player this season.
ASUN Freshman of the Week Bella Smuda
Liberty center Bella Smuda, who scored a career-high 13 points during Saturday s win over North Alabama, has been recognized as the ASUN Women s Basketball Freshman of the Week.
Smuda s first career ASUN weekly honor makes it three straight weeks a Lady Flame has garnered a conference award. Ashtyn Baker was named ASUN Player of the Week on Jan. 4 and Makaela Kestner was tabbed ASUN Newcomer of the Week on Jan. 11.
A native of Exton, Pa., Smuda was efficient and effective during Liberty s two home victories over North Alabama, totaling 19 points, 10 rebounds and two blocks in 25 total minutes of playing time. For the weekend, Smuda helped Liberty dominate the interior. The Lady Flames topped the Lions in rebounds (90-65), points in the paint (82-38) and second-chance points (50-18).
