Assam Government Capped Expenses for the Cremation of COVID Victims
The Assam Government has announced an amount of Rs 5000-10,000 to be spent case-to-case basis for the cremation of COVID-19 victims in the event their relatives do not receive the bodies or they cannot bear the expenditure of the cremation.

GUWAHATI: The Assam Government has announced an amount of Rs 5000-10,000 to be spent case-to-case basis for the cremation of COVID-19 victims in the event their relatives do not receive the bodies or they cannot bear the expenditure of the cremation.
The move has been taken as the deputy commissioners told the government of difficulties faced by them in the cremation of COVID-19 victims. The funds for this purpose will be provided by the National Health Mission, Assam.

CM Himanta Visit to Basistha Cremation Ground: Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today visited Basistha cremation ground and took stock of progress of the beautification project implemented there under the aegis of Basistha Ashram management committee, cremation ground management committee and CMD of Prag News channel. The Chief Minister visited the pond which has been developed at the ground as part of the project. He also took stock of the special arrangements put in place for cremation of bodies of the Covid-19 patients.
