Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act (CBERA)
On 21 December 2020, the Office of Textiles and Apparel (OTEXA) under the US Department of Commerce announced the new tariff quota level for Haiti s apparel items under the Caribbean Basin Economic Recovery Act (CBERA). Specifically, from 20 December 2020 through 19 December 2021, Haiti can export a total of 337,967,087 square metres equivalent (SME) of apparel to the United States duty-free under CBERA. This quota level is equivalent to 1.25% of the aggregate SME of all apparel articles imported into the United States in the past 12 months.
