KITCHENER Ontario has released an expanded list of pharmacies offering COVID-19 vaccines across the province, including many in Waterloo Region. The pharmacies will administer Moderna or Pfizer vaccines to eligible populations. Most pharmacies are booking appointments for people over the age of 40, while some are available to people 18 and older. Thirty-two more pharmacies in Hamilton are set to begin offering vaccinations this week, according to Ontario s Ministry of Health.(Cole Burston/The Canadian Press)
Dozens more pharmacies are set to begin offering COVID-19 vaccinations in Hamilton including 11 in the lower city.
The locations are among more than 700 being added to the rollout of shots at pharmacies across the province, which was announced on Sunday. The new sites include 20 in Burlington, 19 in Niagara and one in Brantford.
Each pharmacy will begin offering appointments for people 55 and older to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine starting this week. Addresses will be added to the pharmacy list as they begin doling out doses, according to the province.
KITCHENER Pharmacies in Waterloo Region are now booking appointments to administer COVID-19 vaccines. The province released an expanded list of pharmacies offering the AstraZeneca vaccine on Thursday. The age eligibility to 55. Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang said the province asked for input on which pharmacies to include in the next stage of rollout. We did have input into the selection of pharmacies, Dr. Wang said at the region s COVID-19 briefing on Thursday morning. One of the things we wanted to provide as input was a good distribution of the locations such that there was good coverage of our region and, in particular, areas where we see higher rates of COVID-19.
