Police identified the suspect as Crisanto Gonzales, 27, street sweeper, a resident of Barangay 649, Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.
According to a report, Richelle Claros, 21, and her partner Valeriano Biong, 21, received their emergency financial assistance from the national government in the area at around 3:30 a.m. on April 11.
Gonzales and a still-unidentified cohort robbed the couple at knifepoint. Closed-circuit television footage from the barangay showed the assailants fleeing on foot.
Gonzales was identified through his blonde-dyed hair. Biong identified him after the police showed him a photograph. He was arrested on Monday (April 12).
It was learned that Gonzales was also allegedly involved in a snatching incident at Barangay 649 in Port Area, Manila on April 9 but the victim decided not to pursue the case.

A man was arrested after he allegedly threatened to leak edited lewd photos of two minors on Tuesday (Feb. 16).

Arrested was Balnit Turla Singh, 26, resident of Baseco Compound, Port Area, Manila.
Singh, a neighbor of the two victims, reportedly befriended them first, according to a report from GMA News.
But after several conversations, the suspect began asking for sexual favors from the two victims.
After failing to get their attention, Singh edited their faces on sexual photos and threatened to leak them.
Police identified the slain suspect as a certain “Popoy,” of legal age.
Investigation showed that elements of the Baseco Police Station conducted a buy-bust operation against Popoy at around 2:50 a.m.
A poseur buyer reportedly bought a sachet of suspected shabu worth P500 from the suspect. When Popoy noticed the approaching police officers, he allegedly fired at them.
The suspect sustained injuries and was brought to Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center where he died..
Investigation is ongoing.
