Wichita Falls ISD and Chartwells K12 handed out over 14,000 meals Monday to help feed students over spring break this week, officials said.  Workers distributed 945 free spring break meal boxes Monday for students under 18 in a first-time effort to provide meals over the vacation, officials said.  New guidelines from the U.S. Department of Agriculture allow the district and Chartwells to provide the free meals, officials said.  The USDA changed the guidelines in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, officials said.  Each box is providing 15 meals for a child, officials said.  The meal boxes were picked up at Lamar, Burgess, Zundy and Booker T. Washington elementary schools, and Barwise Middle School, officials said.
