Bzzzzz: It's Margot, not Bebot or Tomas for mayor. Hontiveros, Zafra won't run under Barug but will back Mike Rama for mayor. Ruling party to file COCs October 5.
March 08, 2021 Two weeks ago, former Cebu City Councilor Joey Daluz announced his resignation from Barug, the other half in the coalition that he served as manager in the victorious 2019 campaign. He said he was instead going to reorganize the Panaghiusa, the political party of his mother, Inday Nita.
Over the weekend, another Barug stalwart also disclosed that he was going to revive the political party of his father. City Councilor Raymond Garcia said his decision to reactivate Kusug was a response to the clamor of many political leaders of former city mayor Alvin Garcia, including former and incumbent barangay captains.
March 01, 2021 ATTY. Jose C. Daluz III, former Cebu City councilor who headed the 2019 campaign that wrested City Hall from Tomas Osmeña s BOPK, has resigned from the city s ruling party Partido Barug.
In a one-page, three-paragraph letter to Vice Mayor Michael Rama as Barug president dated March 1, 2021, Daluz said his resignation was most appropriate as he was resolved to pursue the political party espoused by his late mother, Partido Panaghiusa.
Copies of the letter were furnished to Mayor Edgardo Labella and members of the City Council. A councilor confirmed Monday, March 1, to Bzzzzz having received the letter but withheld further comment until the Barug member could talk with colleagues in the party. Barug controls the Sanggunian.
