San Antonio marked a milestone Saturday in its response to the coronavirus pandemic: The number of people fully vaccinated now exceeds the total number who were infected by the virus over the past year.

It’s been a year since the World Health Organization declared the spread of the coronavirus had become a pandemic.
In that time, almost 200,000 people in Bexar County have contracted the virus 366 new cases were reported Thursday. Five more deaths were reported, pushing the total since the pandemic was declared to 2,861.
