RAPID CITY, S.D. On Tuesday, the Pennington County Commission approved about $277, 920 for a mental health Crisis Stabilization Facility in Rapid City.
The price tag for the facility is $4.6 million and will serve as another level of the Care Campus and OneHeart.
Funding has been appropriated through the South Dakota Department of Social Services, with it coming through Senate Bill 133.
The facility will continue the county’s efforts to provide extended care for those with mental health issues.
“(The) Crisis Stabilization unit will offer the 3-5 days of treatment opportunities for individuals where they can access therapy, as well as medications and the most significant of this is keeping individuals in our community,” said Barry Tice, the Health and Human Services Director in Pennington County.
