Mike Clay of ESPN put out his updated 2021 NFL Unit Grades heading into the NFL Draft next week and one thing that stood out to me was his ranking for the Denver Broncos on the defensive side of the ball.
The only position Clay doesn’t have a dominant ranking in for all defensive positions, with the only weakness being at their interior defensive line position. The irony is that 2.0 is higher than all but two offensive positions.
However, due to the third worst ranking at quarterback behind the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets, bot teams that are in prime position to upgrade with the first two picks, the offensive rankings lagged well behind ranking 28th overall.
