We were delighted to welcome David Archer, CEO of the AIM-listed Lithium explorer and developer Savannah Resources to our LSE Natural Resources Webinar last night (25.05.2021). Savannah s main project is the hard rock Mina do Barrosa lithium project in Portugal, and David was happy to put the economics of the project in context for us.
This is the largest conventional lithium spodumene project in Europe, and has significant growth opportunities. We hope to be in production in 2023 said David, and would therefore enjoy early mover advantage if that happens.
David was keen to point out the project is a brownfield site development and takes place on what is an existing mine which is currently being mined. Already many 100 s of job applications have been received, which shows a degree of acceptance by the local community.
