Jade and Tom Grove with son, Barney, and daughter, Daisy. THERE were smiles aplenty as a four-year-old boy with autism raised thousands for groups that are crucial to his family. Barney Grove was diagnosed with autism earlier this year, after a long struggle to get support and his family wanted to give something back. Jade and Tom Grove, from Preston Candover, spent 18 months fighting for a place at a specialist school for Barney, who is currently non-verbal. Throughout the journey, Candover Valley Pre-school and Barn Tots Playgroup at Viables Community Centre, where Barney currently attends, have provided invaluable support. Jade said: “All through Covid we have had to fight for diagnosis, school place and therapy for him and this has all been done via phone call, zoom or email. It has been hard but working together we have managed to secure him the place that he needed to get the best help.
