With a population of only 3,584, Ethel, Louisiana may pack the most fun per person than anywhere else!
Nestled in East Feliciana Parish, Ethel s claim to fame is being home to blues singer and musician Jimmy Dotson. They re also one heck of a town to visit. It s a short drive from most of south Louisiana and a fun weekend for those of us in the northwestern part of the state.

Magnolia Adventure Park, a part of the Barn Hill Preserve, just opened in October of 2020 and is already making a name for itself as a destination. In addition to ziplining, you can test your mettle on bridge crossings and climbing towers. As someone who is afraid of heights, I might need to wear an adult diaper to participate!

A kitchen, which is the hub for providing meals to the community, has received a new look to ensure it continues to be fit for purpose.
The main kitchen at the Stamford Methodist Church in Barn Hill is used four days a week by Second Helpings as well as by a number of community groups and the church congregation.
Established in 2015 with the aim of feeding bellies not bins , Second Helpings prevents surplus food going to landfill by re-distributing it within the community.
