Three Centenary biology students won first place for their poster presentation at the 9th annual Regional Student Scholars Program at Louisiana State University-Shreveport (LSUS) held on April 5.
Apparently, thunderbirds are no match for actual thunder.
Clouds threatened the festivities Sunday in the 87th Barksdale Air Force Base Air Show, but that did not stop the show, or the crowd from coming out.
The U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, the Thunderbirds, were set to take flight Sunday but when the rain started their act was canceled.
On Sunday, at 11:30 a.m. the show was canceled abruptly when the clouds opened, and the rain began. Sunday’s schedule had shifted with the forecast of unfavorable weather on Sunday.
Instead of the 11 a.m. start time for Sunday, the show began at 10 a.m. And, acts such as the Warbirds and many of the Heritage bombers were pulled from the list of acts as a safety precaution.
