The Mid-South may be emerging from its involuntary COVID-19 induced hibernation, but this coming Memorial Day should be fairly quiet, compared to some of the three-day weekends of the pre-2020 era, when public parties and public salutes to veterans were common.
Still, there is plenty to do this weekend, from special events to those ongoing attractions that are perhaps easier to make time for when you get to skip work on Monday as well as on Saturday and Sunday.
Here is a list of seven suggestions a lucky seven lineup of events, suitable for families, couples and singles; athletic competitors and couch potatoes; and the morbid and the merry.
