Will.i.Am’s Custom 1958 Volkswagen Beetle
We could make this list all of Will.i.Am s (William James Adams Jr.) vehicles, but the real show-stopper is his $900,000 custom-built Dick Tracy-style car. The project started life in 2009 as a 1958 Volkswagen Beetle that the rapper wanted to be fitted with a twin-turbo Porsche flat-six. That would be one cool Bug, but then Adams decided he wanted something futuristic built. So, instead, the Beetle was stretched out, and a supercharged LS3 from Extreme Performance was installed in the front. The creative process was, as you can tell by the final product, a complete mess. Adams changed his mind frequently, and the build took years to complete. When Adams decided we suddenly wanted it finished quickly so he could use it for his appearance at the 2011 Super Bowl, The Garage in Florida said it couldn t be done. Adams then sent it to West Coast Customs, where it remained for another two years while Adams kept changing his mind.
