The fifth annual Interfaith Awareness Week on Aug. 8-15 is set to bring together folks from various faith traditions for virtual discussions hosted by different faith communities.
This year’s theme is “Visioning an Equitable, Inclusive and Pluralistic Global Society.” The event’s opening ceremony is slated to be livestreamed in more than 100 countries.
Interfaith Awareness Week grew out of a five-day interfaith conference, known as the North American Interfaith Network’s conference, in August 2017 at UC San Diego. The event drew more than 250 people representing 20 faiths. The event was organized by the Poway Interfaith Team formed in 2006 to encourage interfaith dialogue.
