Sonny Hasme stands inside one of the formerly used toll booths that he worked in at the Carquinez Bridge Toll Plaza in Vallejo. Hasme was a toll collector for 19 years, during which he got known as the “dancing toll collector” because he liked to groove to the music on his radio. He’s since moved on to another job with CalTrans. In-person toll collection is now a relic of the past in California, as the Bay Area bridges have permanently switched to electronic collection.Jessica Christian / The ChronicleShow MoreShow Less
