Things to do this weekend in the Rockford area

1. Get an afternoon of fresh air at Klehm Arboretum’s Arbor Day Klehm Arboretum & Botanic Garden, 2715 S. Main St., Rockford, will celebrate Arbor Day and the significance of trees, green spaces, and education from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Festivities include a tree giveaway (while supplies last), free admission for the day, a free guided walking tour, tree plantings throughout the grounds and free downloadable Arbor Day materials. The tree giveaway will be a self-serve drive-thru style giveaway, taking place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., or while supplies last, in the parking lot. The tree giveaway is limited to one tree per vehicle.
