There are several contested municipal elections around Perry County that could be settled in the primary on May 18, while others simply set up a general election contested race for November, according to the candidates listed with the county Elections and Voter Registration office.
Marysville’s council is a prime example of a race that could be settled in the primary. It has three four-year seats up for grabs in the election with no Democratic candidates, but four Republicans vying for a seat. The candidates are: John D. Edkin Sr., Alexandria Snyder, David I. Magee and Leigh Ann M. Urban.

Families of the Yorkshire Ripper s victims are asking for the infamous killer s estate to be shared between them after his ex-wife refused to share the contents of his will.
Between the 1970s and 1980s Peter Sutcliffe, murdered at least 13 women, last year he died at the age of 74 after testing positive for coronavirus.
An inquest into the death of Peter Sutcliffe was adjourned today because the coroner has not yet received the prison ombudsman s report into the serial killer s death.
Sutcliffe, who was blind and needed a wheelchair, died in hospital on November 13 from a combination of Covid-19, diabetes and heart disease.
At the time of his death, the 79-year-old was serving a whole-life term for the murders of 13 women across Yorkshire and Manchester between 1975 and 1980.
The assistant senior coroner for County Durham and Darlington, Crispin Oliver, today held a brief hearing at Crook Civic Centre to give an update into how the inquiry was progressing.
A new Netflix series revisiting the crimes of the Yorkshire Ripper, Peter Sutcliffe, has outraged viewers who claim it still perpetuates the attitude that some of his victims lives meant less because they were sex workers.
The crimes of the serial killer who murdered 13 women and attempted to kill many others in the 1970s, have been well documented, but a new generation has been left shocked to hear sex workers among Sutcliffe s victims referred to as pests , good time girls or having gone down in status, by the officers investigating the crimes.
And in episode one of the series, Yorkshire Post journalist Alan Whitehouse describes how police were caught short by the murder of Sutcliffe s fourth victim, Jayne McDonald, 16, who he followed home from her job at a supermarket, which prompted national interest in the case.
