Our critics pick the best movies and TV shows coming to the streaming platform by Staff on January 29th, 2021 at 5:00 PM 1 of 4 2 of 4
These are the most anticipated new titles hitting Netflix Canada in February 2021, including
Malcolm and Marie, starring Zendaya; the dramedy
Ginny and Georgia; a dog-centric reality series; and season two of Tiffany Haddish’s stand-up showcase with some Vancouver connections in the mix.
What we can’t wait to watch
Malcolm and Marie
Director Sam Levinson reunites with his Euphoria star Zendaya in a black-and-white Virginia Woolf-riff shot during the earliest days of the COVID-19 pandemic. Zendaya and John David Washington star as a model and her movie director boyfriend who throw metaphorical stones in a literal glass house after coming from the premiere of the latter’s new movie. Early critical reactions to

Of all of Netflix’s offerings in February, we’re most excited about “Malcolm and Marie,” a black-and-white romantic drama starring Zendaya and John David Washington. They’re both powerhouse young actors, and early reviews
say their chemistry is something to behold. It hits the streaming service on Feb. 5.
For rom-com lovers, the third instalment of the “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before” series is out Feb. 12, just in time for Valentine’s Day.
There are some pretty great previous releases hitting Netflix this month, too: the very dark comedy “Bachelorette,” written and director by “Russian Doll” co-creator Leslye Headland (out Feb. 1); Barry Jenkins’ beautiful, lush, underrated “If Beale Street Could Talk,” (Feb. 20) and the ever-popular show “Parks and Recreation” (Feb. 1).
