The two suspects arrested for the abandonment of a 2-year-old boy at a Mississippi Goodwill donation center last week are now facing federal kidnapping charges, while the boy’s mother has alleged that the male suspect attempted to force her into prostitution.
Jeremy Fitzgerald, 34, and Turliscea Turner, 29, are accused of deserting the toddler, who was discovered by an employee at a donation center in Southaven, Mississippi shortly before 10 a.m. on Dec. 14. U.S. Attorney David Michael Dunavant announced on Thursday that the Memphis-based duo had been federally charged with kidnapping, according to a press release about the complaint.

He was seen on surveillance footage being dropped off by two men and a woman who stopped their red SUV at a nearby gas station
Antoinette Smith, the boy s mother, said that she wasn t the woman seen in surveillance footage arriving at the nearby gas station
She claimed that the boy was left with a male acquaintance sister in Memphis as she went to Nashville
It was later revealed that the sister was actually the man s girlfriend
Smith said she was left in Nashville after she refused to prostitute

A two-year-old boy was reportedly left abandoned at a Goodwill donation center in Southaven, Mississippi early Monday morning, but his mother was located in Nashville, Tennessee hours later.
According to police, nearby surveillance video captured images of two men and a woman associated with the incident, in addition to the vehicle they were driving when the child was abandoned.

Surveillance cameras in the area captured images of the man and a woman who authorities believe were involved in the incident.
At around 3:30 p.m. Monday, Southaven officers aided by Shelby County, Tennessee, sheriff’s deputies and FBI agents in both Mississippi and Tennessee apprehended one suspect in connection to the case after receiving numerous tips following a public appeal for information.
So far, that person s name or alleged connection to the case has not been released. At this time the investigation is still ongoing, no suspect information or charges are being released, Southaven Police Department Chief Macon Moore said in a statement Monday. We would like to thank all of the citizens who showed concern for the child, rest assured he is well, and being taken care of and will be reunited with family when CPS determines this is proper.
