The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy is working to improve conditions for fisherfollk.
Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and the Blue Economy, Sonia Foster, outlined some of these benefits, as she addressed the virtual opening ceremony of a training programme hosted by the Pinelands Creative Workshop, in collaboration with the ministry on Monday.
While speaking on the topic “Supporting the Blue Economy through Social Enterprise”, Foster said the ministry also proposed to install and deploy Fish Aggregating Devices (FADS) in Barbados’ territorial waters to increase fish catch, according to a statement issued by Barbados Government Information Service.
The Best-dos Santos Public Health Laboratory reported 61 new positive COVID-19 cases on Monday, February 22, from the 843 tests that were conducted. EBC deletes names from Register of Electors

The Electoral and Boundaries Commission (EBC) has advised that it has deleted names of persons from the Register of Electors published on January 31, 2020.
The names of the persons who were deleted may be viewed, via download, on the website of the Barbados Government Information – www.gisbarbados.gov.bb. Go to the Resources tab; click Downloads; scroll down; and then click on the General Information tab.
The list may also be viewed at the office of the EBC, Level I, Warrens Towers II, Warrens, St. Michael, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., weekdays.
