TINGLAYAN, Kalinga – The Kalinga Provincial Police Office (KPPO) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) uprooted P8.6-million worth of fully grown marijuana plants in the mountainous area of Barangay Ngibat here during a three-day eradication operation under “Oplan: Butterfly.
Kalinga police chief Police Col. Davy Limmong said four marijuana plantations were discovered in the operation from April 12 to 14.
Limmong said 5,000 fully grown marijuana plants in a 500-square meter land area with a market value of P1 million were discovered and uprooted in Site 1. Also discovered were 400 grams of marijuana dried leaves with an estimated value of P48,000.
