The local government warned erring owners of the facilities on Monday on the prevailing ban on resort operations.
It added that Mayor Lenlen Oreta “is keeping a close watch” on them.
On May 2, a private resort in Barangay Maysilo was ordered closed for accommodating more than 20 people reportedly for a baptismal event. The facility, according to the local government, is owned by a certain Dr. Ma. Theresa Cruz.
The facility was also cited for supposedly operating without a business permit. Those caught were issued violation receipts for mass gathering.
“It is a bit of a sacrifice for us all, but we still ban mass gatherings during any occasion while the virus infestation is still at its peak,” Oreta said in a statement.
