(Photo courtesy of DOTr) MANILA - The construction of the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Malolos-Clark segment reached a milestone on Tuesday with its first use of a launching gantry-a special purpose mobile gantry crane used in bridge construction. The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said the launching gantry-dubbed 'Luid' or 'Mabuhay' in Kapampangan-represents the first time such equipment was used in Pampanga province. "Luid will travel 5.5 kilometers between Barangay Lourdes, Minalin in Pampanga and Barangay Gatbuca, Calumpit in Bulacan, and will be utilized to construct the railway viaduct," the DOTr said on its Facebook post.
