Replacement works of the 30-linear meter Baang Bridge in Barangay Cabaroan and 20-linear meter Tiagan Bridge in Barangay Tiagan both in the municipality of San Emilio, Ilocos Sur were recently completed.
According to Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar, Baang and Tiagan Bridge used to be temporary baileys. The project has converted these baileys to permanent concrete to “ensure safety and improve the mobility of not just residents but also agricultural products to the upland municipalities.”
