MARIVELES, Bataan: What is considered the largest coal-fired power plant in the Philippines operating in Barangay Alas-Asin here has recorded another feat.
The first tranche of a loan to bankroll the construction of the P175-billion Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge is targeted to be approved come the third quarter of this year, according to the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
A bridge-tunnel linking Bataan and Cavite was first pitched in 1987, later approved in 2020 as the Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge under the Build, Build, Build Program of Rodrigo Duterte
The civil works contract packages to build the P175-billion Bataan-Cavite Interlink Bridge are set for bidding within this year, and construction of the project would possibly begin by the first quarter of 2024, according to an official of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).
