Youth receives pellet injuries in North Kashmir shifted to Srinagar
Srinagar: A youth was injured in North Kashmir’s Baramullah District soon after Friday prayers when police used pellet guns to disperse the groups of youth indulging in stone-pelting.
According to CNS, soon after Friday prayers, dozens of youth assembled at Azad Gunj Baramullah and started pelting stones on police and Para-military troopers. Youth raised anti-India slogans and resorted to heavy stone pelting. Police used tear smoke shells to disperse the agitated youth. However, youth didn’t disperse and continued pelting stones on men in uniform.
Eyewitnesses said that police used pelt guns which left five persons injured. Pir Zubir Ahmed Haqani from Khawaja Sahib, Baramullah was critically injured and he was rushed to nearby hospital where doctors directed the inmates to shift him to Srinagar. Stone pelted continued for hours after the injury of Zubir Ahmed. Pertinently, MMM has not given any call for protes
