Rapper Kiernan AKA Forbes says he and his late fiancé Anele Tembe had an argument in the hours before she fell to her death from the Pepperclub Hotel balcony in Cape Town.
Forbes denied abusing Tembe, whom he said had tried to take her own life before.
He said he left the room and went into the bathroom after Tembe threatened to kill herself, and when he returned, Tembe wasn t there anymore.
Rapper Kiernan Forbes, professionally known as AKA, has for the first time spoken publicly about his version of the last hours of his late fiancé Anele Nelli Tembe s life, marred by arguing and threats of suicide before she died.
Rapper AKA revealed the reason why he did not go downstairs to check on his late fiancée Anele “Nelli” Tembe after she plunged to her death from the 10th floor of the Pepperclub Hotel in his exclusive sit-down interview with Thembekile Mrototo that premiered on BarLeader TV’s YouTube channel on Saturday evening 22 May.
This followed Bar Leader’s removal of the interview video after 15 minutes due to poor audio quality earlier in the evening. After an outcry from fans and critics who were eager to finally hear AKA’s version of events, the production reposted the interview with better audio quality later in the evening.

There have been mixed reactions on social media following a sit-down interview in which rapper AKA details the moments before Anele Tembe s death.
Rapper Kiernan Forbes, better known as AKA, has spoken out during his first media interview addressing the death of his fiance Anele Tembe.
Forbes sat down with broadcaster Thembekile Mrototo for an exclusive interview produced by The Bar Leader TV.
The rapper says the hour-long interview, which aired on Saturday night, was his attempt at telling his side of the story following allegations that he was violent and abusive towards Tembe.
