Administration of the COVID-19 vaccine in Arkansas is underway, but Gov. Asa Hutchinson warns against a Christmas spike.
New directives are also being given for indoor events.
So far, 51% of the vaccine that Arkansas has received has been administered and there are more vaccines on the way, the governor noted in his weekly press conference on Tuesday.
The state is set to receive 23,400 more vaccine dose from Pfizer and 17,700 doses from Moderna. This does not include the second round of doses that will arrive in the coming weeks.
Thus far, 12,969 healthcare workers have received the first round of doses in Arkansas as a part of 1A level of the CDC distribution plan. The 1A part of this distribution includes healthcare workers and long-term care residents and workers.
