Dr Sadanand Poojary
MANGALURU: This doctor, who performed surgeries on Covid positive patients during lockdown, was one of the Covid frontline warriors to be vaccinated on the first day of the nationwide vaccination drive.
Dr Sadanand Poojary, a Consultant Urologist and Andrologist, performed surgery on ten Covid positive patients at Government Wenlock Hospital, including an emergency operation at midnight on a patient, with several other complications.
Dr Sadanand was fortunate not to catch the Coronavirus, but his wife Sowmya, an ophthalmologist working at Bantwal Government Health Centre did test positive during lockdown. So, both were quarantined for a fortnight. Luckily their son didn’t test positive.
