Brunswick Heads foreshore projects, according to Mr Franklin’s office, consists of ‘environmental and recreational improvements and upgrades to facilities and amenities at Torakina Reserve, Banner Park, and Terrace Reserve, Brunswick Heads’. ‘The improvement will provide much-needed facilities for the benefit and enjoyment of locals and visitors and will resolve the ongoing degradation of the reserves’.

Man 'remorseful' after smashing shop window, park fight

Premium Content Subscriber only A man who smashed the window of a Byron Bay store and engaged in a fight in a popular coastal park has been sentenced for his crimes. Lachlan Lyons, 22, faced Byron Bay Local Court on Monday for sentencing on property damage and affray offences. The court heard he caused about $980 worth of damage to The Rainbow Shop on Jonson St in Byron Bay when he punched a glass panel, causing it to shatter, on January 6. Four days later, he was involved in a fight with another man in Banner Park in Brunswick Heads. The McGregors Family Carnival was operating at the time and the court heard there were numerous people, including children, in the area while security from the nearby pub intervened.

Bruns mural removed without notice – Echonetdaily

Aslan Shand The actions of Reflections Holiday Park in reshaping the foreshore of Brunswick Heads have once again been questioned, following the removal of the Housie Shed walls and relocation of community art. Organisers of the Brunswick River Festival, that ran from 1990 to 1995, were concerned over the relocation of the community art they facilitated, that had been on the Housie Shed wall. The festival was a three day cultural and community event that brought the community together, with Indigenous culture, art, music and theatre over the October school holidays. One of the founding members of the festival, Donny McCormack, said, ‘Following the 1993 festival, we worked with Mullumbimby High School art students and Indigenous artists to create a piece of artwork to decorate the Housie Shed for the community’.
