can use bannon like maybe this is what gets us past this. how many republicans on capitol hill have that feeling? i don t think a whole lot. i was talking to some people on the hill, they were saying bann bannon s departure might make the white house run smoothly but it s not going to change who trump is. the problem is who trump is. i have to leave it there. thank you very much. we ll be right back.
it s trump s core instincts in his gut. all right. willy. what about the idea that bann bannon, so how does that sound to donald trump? i don t know. as we says a couple months ago, oh, did would, it s always i, i, i. you remember at the president trump press conference, president trump was pretty icy when asked about steve bannon, he called him mr. bannon and he said, quote, we ll see what happens. you re fired. jonathan ax john doud
democrats who have been calling for the president to get rid of steve bannon, who is of course in his inner circle. we understand that he and president trump were in communication via text on saturday when the president of course said both sides. today the president would not commit to keeping steve bannon around. let me play what he said in the press conference about him. i like him. he s a good man. he is not a racist. i can tell you that. he s a good person. he actually gets a very unfair press in that regard. we ll see what happens with mr. bann bannon, but he s a good person and i think the press treats him unfairly. do you think steve bannon should have a place in that white house, congressman? i m going to leave it to the president to decide who he wants to have in his white house. that is his prerogative. i don t know steve bannon personally. i know he s gotten a lot of press. i don t know if it s right or i don t think.
megado nor and called him deeply hostile to israel. anita, what s the history of this? what is their problem with h.r. mcmaster? why him? he s just more afteren establishment figure. you mentioned steve bannon. bann bannon s the other side of that coin. they disagree on policy issues, afghanistan, israel, the iran nuclear deal. so there s that disagreement. this is obviously breitbart, very influential in this white house, trying to go push the president to get rid of him. the president doesn t like to be pushed, and you ve seen he s come out and supported him in a statement about a week ago where he said we work well together. he is pro-israel, and we get along fine. earlier today again on nicole
inside the white house that would focus on governance and policy. jonathan, i was hearing one specific report mentioning reince priebus might become the ambassador to greece. there are a lot of people in the white house that would like that, maybe mr. kushner and bann bannon. it s interesting to watch this sort of power jockeying unfold and you see these reports come out and you know, maybe jared kushner is going back to new york in six months, maybe reince priebus is going to greece and you start to wonder how long the infight will go on. one issue with the staff shakeup, thomas, is that you would have to get somebody to come in and take those jobs and right now that s a problem and number two, if you get rid of people or you move them around, you fundamentally make them less loyal at a time when the white house needs as many loyal allies as it possibly can have. those may work against a significant staff shakeup, might see one or two moves but i don t think they want to be creati
