The action was taken by Somnath Bankar, assistant PMC commissioner of Bhawani Peth ward office, along with the inspection squad. “During the time of the surprise inspection, it was found that around 30-40 customers were inside the hotel sitting and eating. Because of this, we penalised them Rs 1 lakh for COVID lockdown rules violation. The hotels have been given time to operate only to provide the delivery service, that too it has to be through the food delivery mobile application and not customers,” said Bankar.
