Mumbai: Three held for kidnapping, extortion charges
The Bangur Nagar Police have booked a history-sheeter and his associates for kidnapping and extortion charges after they were handed over by officials or crime branch unit 11 for abducting a city based real estate agent and demanding â¹1 crore to release him.
The duo was nabbed on May 15, from Malad. The victim told police that three men had kidnapped him in April and confined in a room for three days, and demanded â¹1 crore as extortion.
The accused, who is a notorious criminal, was approached by people who were allegedly duped by a company by investing upon the complainant s advice. While police have made the arrest, further investigation in the case is underway.

Four men, including a 16-year-old, were arrested Friday (26 February) for the brutal killing of a trans person, Surya Pujari, in northern Mumbai, India.
Pujari, regarded as a trans community leader in the sleepy Malad suburb, was slain 4:30pm Wednesday (24 February) outside the Roomaniya Hotel.

Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], February 27 (ANI): Four people have been arrested for the brutal murder of a transgender in Mumbai, Vishal Thakur, Deputy Commissioner of Police Zone-11, informed on Friday.
The transgender was stabbed to death with a sharp-edged weapon in the Goregaon west area on Thursday and a case has been registered at the Bangur Nagar Police Station. A transgender person was brutally murdered on February 24 on the side of the road. Police personnel immediately reached the scene and took the body to the hospital. Post mortem revealed that the transgender was stabbed with a hammer or a sharp object, Thakur told reporters.
