Moose Spotted Wandering Around Bangor Mall Area It was quite a sight near Bangor Mall Thursday morning. A moose was spotted wandering around the area. What was this moose up to? Complaining about his lack of cell service in the big woods? Using the ATM? Perhaps applying for a gig at Bull Moose? Photos snapped by Ann Mccluskey are making the rounds on Facebook of a moose strolling around the entrance of Bangor Mall Boulevard in Bangor. According to her post, the moose was spotted Thursday morning. While Bangor is a one of the bigger cities in Maine, it s not uncommon to see moose occasionally. Other wildlife often spotted within the city limits include deer, foxes, coyotes, and sometimes even a bear if you find yourself in the Bangor City Forest. Wildlife officials encourage watching wild animals at a distance.

Bangor, Maine News Update: May 10, 2021 The Maine CDC reports 215 new cases of COVID-19 statewide. Maine children, ages 12 and up, are now eligible for the Pfizer vaccine, after the U.S. FDA declared it safe and effective. Governor Mills is encouraging parents to get their children vaccinated, to help the state get back to normal. Police continue to investigate after a person cleaning out their deceased father’s Casco property found skeletal remains in an outbuilding. The father who lived at the property, 82-year-old Douglas Scott, died earlier this year. Officials say identifying the remains and determining cause of death will likely take several weeks.

Could the Bangor Toys R Us Be Coming Back?

A firm out of New York, called Tru Kids, Inc, is taking a controlling stake over the Toys R Us brands. And, with how they are envisioning the future for the Toys R Us brand, there could be a resurrection of physical, walk-through-the-aisles Toys R Us locations in some fashion. This deal was brought to light on Monday and comes two months after Toys R Us shuttered its final two brick-and-mortar stores in the United States. We have seen many mall-centered stores nationwide and here in Bangor closing their doors for over a decade brewed by the war of physical stores versus internet stores. After filing for bankruptcy in 2017, we lost our Bangor Toys R Us in 2018.
