Tourism industry to help achieve SDGs: Mahbub

MUNSHIGANJ, 21 Jan, 2021 (BSS) – State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mahbub Ali today that measures have been taken to strengthen the tourism sector as it will reflect the country’s development and help achieve SDGs within the stipulated time.
“We have met the MDGs ahead of schedule, next lie the SDGs…The tourism industry will play a vital role in meeting the targets of this SDG,” he said while speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Padma Cruise’ inauguration ceremony beneath the under-construction Padma Bridge in the middle of the Padma river this afternoon.

State Minister for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali today said that no decision has been taken to suspend air communication with any country.
Air communication with all countries will continue in compliance with health regulations, he said while talking to reporters after inaugurating a rooftop restaurant at Parjatan Bhaban, the headquarters of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, in the capital s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
Replying to another question, the state minister said, after the lifting of ban on flight operations by the respective countries due to a new strain of Covid-19 including Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh will immediately resume flights to those countries.

State Minister for Civil Aviation Md Mahbub Ali yesterday said air communication with all countries will continue in compliance with health regulations, as no decision was taken yet to suspend air communication with any country.
The junior minister said this while talking to reporters after inaugurating a rooftop restaurant at the Parjatan Bhaban, the headquarters of the Bangladesh Tourism Corporation, in the capital s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
