Despite criticism from environmentalists, amidst deaths of animals in Gazipur safari park, the government is moving forward with the project of third Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park at Lathitila forest in Juri, Moulvibazar.
Despite the forest department lacking the skilled manpower needed to run two existing safari parks, plans are underway for yet another safari park project in Lathitila forest in Moulvibazar’s Juri upazila, at the cost of destroying natural forests.
Three more members have been added to the committee investigating the deaths of animals in Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Safari Park in Gazipur. Deadline for submitting the report has also been extended by ten days.
