Entertainment venues are among a wide range of establishments that have been ordered to shut from midnight in the wake of the latest Covid-19 outbreak.
The tightening of measures by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) was announced on Friday as two more Covid-19 deaths were reported, lifting the total to 63.
Speaking after an urgent meeting of the Bangkok communicable disease committee, BMA spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said new infection clusters had been found and linked to entertainment venues and other premises.

BANGKOK, Jan. 1 (Xinhua) The Thai capital of Bangkok Friday ordered temporary closure of the city s venues including schools, stadiums and amusement parks as the COVID-19 outbreak continued to spread.
The restrictive measures, effective from Saturday, aimed at stemming the further spread of COVID-19, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) spokesman Pongsakorn Kwanmuang said.
All BMA schools will be closed during the Jan. 4-17 period, while other venues will be closed till further notice, according to the BMA.
Restaurants throughout the city are required to open only for take-out orders and no seating will be provided for customers.
