MUMBAI: A commerce graduate was left in shock on March 10 when the officials at the Bandra police station recorded his statement in an online job fraud in which he had lost Rs2.85 lakhs between March 11 and 15 in 2020.
The first information report (FIR) was registered almost a year after the fraud occurred. What amused the most for the 34-year-old victim was when the police officials informed him that his turn to register the case has come because he was in the queue of the list of victims who were duped online. The victim was told that they are clearing the pending written complaint in 2021 that was submitted in 2020.
