Bandera man sentenced for possessing, producing child pornography

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - A 63-year-old Bandera man has been sentenced for producing and possessing videos depicting the sexual assault of children.
Michael Dewayne Sheeds has been sentenced to 50 years in federal prison followed by 20 years of supervised release. He has also been ordered to pay $100,000 each in restitution to two victims and pay two $5,000 assessments per the Justice for Victims of Trafficking Act.
The US Attorney s Office says that Sheeds was arrested in Laredo in January 2019 on an arrest warrant from the Bandera County Sheriff s Office. A forensic data extraction from a Samsung Galaxy phone seized from Sheeds showed it contained images and videos depicting the sexual assault of children.

She s referring a thwarted kidnapping incident involving her granddaughter. According to the Bandera County Sheriff s Office, someone tried to pick up the young girl last Wednesday from a daycare in the Pipe Creek area. The suspect somehow knew her name.

Abelardo Daniel Garcia, 30, was taken into police custody.
The U.S. Marshals Service said Garcia was wanted by the Bandera County Sheriff’s Office after he allegedly was involved in a shooting and carjacking that killed two people. Witnesses say they saw Garcia flee the scene in the stolen vehicle.
Authorities said Garcia avoided being caught following a high-speed vehicle chase. The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force was later contacted during the investigation to help locate Garcia.

Four people, including justice of the peace, arrested on 150 counts of voter fraud

HONDO, Texas – An area Justice of the Peace has been arrested and accused of election fraud, along with three other people.
Medina County Justice of the Peace Tomas Ramirez was arrested Feb. 11 after a Bandera Grand Jury indicted him and three others two days prior.
Ramirez is facing one count of organized election fraud, one count of assisting voter voting ballot by mail and 17 counts of unlawful possession of a ballot or ballot envelope.
Leonor Rivas Garza, Eva Ann Martinez and Mary Balderrama were also arrested.
