Sign Up An Aberdeenshire choir will perform its spring concert – which will feature the premiere of a new song – digitally. The Banchory Singers’ free concert – taking place on Sunday May 16 at 4pm on Zoom – will also aim to raise funds for local charities. The choir’s chairperson Marion Mathie said: “Once again we hope to attract a global audience for our concert and by making it a free concert, we aim to attract donations that will help local charities at this time when normal fundraising activities are not possible.”

Sign Up A north-east choir group didn’t have much to sing about when lockdown forced them to call off all their regular get-togethers and performances. But the Banchory Community Singers swapped the town hall for Zoom for the staging of its annual carol concert, and members were astounded when a global audience of more than 500 people tuned in.
