Banaras Hindu University (BHU) students have reportedly opposed the institution s proposal to appoint Reliance Industries executive director Nita Ambani as visiting professor.
Citing it as a wrong example being set by BHU, students even protested at the university on Tuesday, March 16. A group of over 40 students staged a demonstration outside the residence of Vice-Chancellor Rakesh Bhatnagar on campus and submitted a memorandum as well, the Indian Express reported.

Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL) denied reports that Nita Ambani received an invitation to join Banaras Hindu University (BHU) as visiting faculty by the varsity s Women Study Centre of Social Sciences Faculty. Reports that Nita Ambani will be a visiting lecturer at Banaras Hindu University are fake. She hasn t received an invitation,” it told ANI.
The clarification came after reports suggested that a proposal to appoint RIL Executive Director Neeta Ambani as the visiting professor ran into opposition from BHU students.
