U.S. Attorney Robert K. Hur has tendered his resignation, effective Feb. 15, he announced Wednesday.
Jonathan F. Lenzner, Hur s first assistant U.S. attorney, will serve as acting U.S. attorney until a replacement is confirmed. Hur, an appointee of former President Donald Trump, took office April 9, 2018.
In a statement, Hur thanked Trump as well as Sens. Ben Cardin and Chris Van Hollen, former Attorneys General Jeff Sessions and William Barr, and former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who preceded him as Maryland s top federal prosecutor.
“I will always be grateful to have served as U.S. Attorney and helped further the office’s proud legacy of pursuing justice with integrity, and without fear or favor,” Hur said.
