Lack of permit forces market to be called off

A farmers market scheduled to take place at Carlisle Grounds in Bray last Friday (22nd) did not go ahead as the council did not give permission. Formerly located in Kilmacanogue, the farmers market was permitted under national regulations as the produce on offer would be considered essential. Niall O Driscoll of Bray Wanderers confirmed that the club had applied for a council permit which had been refused. During Level 5 Restrictions Government advice is that we must stay at home except for travel for work or other essential purpose or for exercise within 5km of homes, said Wicklow County Council in a statement. Wicklow County Council will not be considering applications for outdoor event on lands in the ownership or control of the Council during this time.
