Would be completed. Those residents were transferred over to General Hospital and building the new trauma center, so after that was nearing completion, those workers were ideally going to move right over to van ness gary, and there was about a year hold up. A lot of the residence, apprentices and even in the office workers, even had to go somewhere else and work for that year, and then be transferred over later. They were a hiccup or two on the front end of the project starting on times on time, and that threw a wrench in moving people from hospital to hospital, but let me also say this is a very important sector in our city. The Healthcare Industry when it is not there, you notice. And sometimes certain things can be taken for granted. We typically see commercial buildings, residential, retail, and hospitals are a completely different type of building. They are so much more complex, they are so much more technical. We are not just installing simple every day features, theres different

Starting their outreach to local businesses, to make sure that they were bayview and the remediation portion and the buildout and there would be bayview businesses, especially black businesses on every phase of this development and to see them here now 20 years later speaking and talking about how successful those programs have been not only to them as pro firproprietorship and owners ane want to see to continue to improve and expand. I believe this project gives us an opportunity as a community to move forward and to see some stability around that. And then, also, i wanted to say thank you again to oscar james, Linda Richardson and miss scott. And just knowing that we have a legacy of generations in San Francisco and we do still have that historic tie and knowledge still here present and seeing this project go forward with people being able to see that which has been kind of one of the biggest issues with the whole redevelopment agency, as well as cop program. The only comment i have

It is always top of mind to think very much about the people in the community that are the beneficiaries of the work that we do. It is easy to look around to see the challenges. We have income inequality and housing issues, transportation challenges. People commuting long hours. This affects young people. They are working harder than ever to get an education. We want the bay area to be a place to find a great job. Thinking about Young Persons development, there are some challenges that are natural. Curt talked about the Youth Development work. The past 10 years alone are impressive. It is showing up allaround the city as you drive through. Everything from the Veterans War Memorial building and this building and all around. We want to make that part of the discussion that happens there. We talk about the work we have to do. We want to say thanks to the citizens that we have been able to get the funding to make it all happen. Thank you. Probably the most common question i have been asked over the last six weeks. This happens before the earthquake anniversary how much better prepared are we than we were 30 years ago . The answer is much better prepared. That is in great part to the folks here but also the people of San Francisco who have supported all of this work. However, that doe does not meant we can sit back and think everything is okay. These opportunities are helpful and we want to encourage everyone to stay on their toes here and remember it is important if you can prepare, take some measures that you do so. There are m
