It is known as the Mother Church of Country Music, which definitely tells the history of both things that it is famous for. It was built by a river boat captain who was famously converted under a tent in downtown nashville in may of 1865. They had they come from a family that was very active in the Baptist Community in New Hampshire and it taught them how to sing and how to read music.
