May 01, 2021 TOURISM Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat announced Friday, April 30, that 23,293 displaced tourism workers from Central Visayas have been approved to receive cash assistance under the Department of Tourism (DOT)-Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Cash Assistance Program of the Bayanihan 2 amounting to P116,465,000.
Bohol Province recorded 8,513 workers who have availed themselves of the cash assistance program; 11,327 from Cebu Province; 1,564 from Negros Oriental, and 1,889 workers from Siquijor.
Each displaced tourism worker received P5,000.
In Friday’s virtual awarding of certificates, 1,594 beneficiaries from 16 Bohol-based establishments were acknowledged, with workers coming from tourism support services, resorts, restaurants, community-based tourism organizations (CBTO) and transportation, among others.

The Philippine public-private partnership (PPP) program remains bullish, expanding its pipeline with 14 new projects in 2020, despite the COVID-19 pandemic.
To date, PPP projects total 233 with 176 under implementation, amounting to P1.289 trillion and 57 projects in the pipeline, amounting to P7.159 trillion.
New solicited projects include the Mariveles Mental Wellness Center, Philippine Travel Center Complex, Metro Cebu Expressway, Bicol Medical Center (BMC) Medical Arts Building and Upgrading of Health Services, and the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) sa Makati Property Redevelopment.
Unsolicited projects, newly added, cover the Operation & Maintenance of Francisco B. Reyes Airport and the New Busuanga Airport, New Metro Manila Food and Transport Hub, Tuguegarao City Septage Management, Iloilo Commercial Port Complex and Dumangas Port.
