Consequently, it called for the immediate resignation of President Buhari and reorganisation of the nation’s security architecture for the sustainability of peace in the country. The National Coordinator of the Coalition, Mr. Balarabe Rufai, at a press conference in Katsina christened “#BringBackOurBoys”, said the recent abduction of over 300 Kankara students has showed that Buhari lost the prerogative of providing security for the citizenry. Fresh protest in Kastina over abduction of schoolboys

Punch Newspapers Sections Olaide Oyelude, Katsina Youths under the aegis of the Coalition of Northern Groups on Thursday staged a peaceful protest in Katsina State over the abduction of students of Government Science secondary school, Kankara. Members of the group carried placards with various inscriptions, among which are ‘Rebuild the North and not destroy it’; and ‘Nobody is safe in the North;End banditry now and Bring our boys’. The group earlier addressed a press conference during which it lampooned the Federal Government over its failure to provide security for Nigerians as enshrined in the constitution. The statement at the press conference was read by its National Coordinator, Balarabe Rufai.

Northern coalition insists on agitation for peace

Even as hoodlums disrupted its security meeting in Kaduna State on Monday, the Coalition of Northern Groups (CNG) has said that no amount of threat or intimidation will deter it from the agitation for peace in the north. The group made this known shortly after a courtesy visit to the Kaduna State Commissioner of Police, Umar Muri, at the state’s police command, where it reported the attack on its members. CNG’s security meeting on Monday, attended by retired military and police officers, religious leaders, traditional rulers, as well as women, youth and trade associations was disrupted by hoodlums.
